Why you should consider going electric

Electric vehicles (EVs) are fast becoming a reality on millions of roads across the globe. These plug-in vehicles are steadily being seen as a smarter alternative to fossil-fuel powered automobiles which we have been accustomed to. Electric vehicles offer a great opportunity to reduce outdoor air pollution, responsible for millions of premature deaths around the globe. Traffic is itself the largest contribution to air pollution in urban areas – something we have gotten accustomed to as Malaysians.

It is estimated by the end of 2040 there will be over 500 million electric vehicles on our roads globally. In the scale of international automobile ownership which topped 1 billion in 2010, and is predicted to reach 2 billion by 2040, that number may seem insignificant. It does, however, represent substantial growth. Globally there were only an estimated 400,000 EVs in 2013, showing over a tenfold increase in just 6 years.

As you might be considering to get on the electric-powered train in the near future, here are some reasons you might want to make the switch sooner rather than later.
